Importing window groups

If you want to use the window groups from another system, you can import them as a Terminal settings file from that system.

The file name of the Terminal settings file usually ends with an extension of “.terminal”.

Before you can import the Terminal settings file, it must be exported from the other system and placed in a location where you can access it.

To import a window group:

  1. In Terminal, choose Terminal > Preferences, and then click Window Groups.

  2. In the Finder, locate the Terminal settings file containing the window groups, and then drag it to the window groups list.

  3. The window group appears in the list and it is available for you to use.

All of the settings used by the imported window group are also available in the Settings pane.
