Selecting international character encodings

You can choose the international character encodings for the Terminal window.

To enable international encodings for the Terminal window:

  1. Choose Terminal > Preferences, and then click Settings.

  2. Select a setting to modify from the Settings list, located on the left side of the Settings pane.

  3. Click Advanced.

  4. Select an encoding in the International Character Encoding pop-up menu.

If you want to use an encoding that is not shown in the pop-up menu, you will need to enable the encoding in the Encodings pane of Terminal preferences.
