Using the Encodings pane of Terminal preferences

You can use the Encodings pane of Terminal preferences to enable the international character encodings used in the Terminal window.

Explanation

Encodings

Select the checkbox next to the international character encodings you want to be available to be used by Terminal. After you have enable the encodings, you can select them in the International section of the Advanced pane of the Settings preferences.

Enable All

To select all of the international character encodings, click the Enable All button.

Disable All

To deselect all of the international character encodings, click the Disable All button.

Revert to Defaults

To return to the original international character encodings settings, click “Revert to Defaults.”
