This modified version of the 2009 to 2010 Mac Pro utility will
enable you to update the Xserve 3,1 2009 that is running the
latest Xserve firmware (B06) to the Mac Pro 5,1 2010 firmware
This will upgrade directly to version 144.0.0.0.0 that provides
support for Westmere 6 core CPUs and NVME booting with APFS.

This assumes you have a copy of the 10.14.6 FINAL release from
the app store installed in the /Applications path (the default)
Along with a copy of the Mac Pro 5,1 EFI update package 1.5
that is *mounted* at the time you run the update.

As of July 1 2020 the Mojave full installer can be obtained from
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/macos-mojave/id1398502828?mt=12

The "Mac Pro EFI Firmware Update 1.5" is available here:
https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1321

The tool uses the flashing utility from the 1.5 update with the
firmware from the Mojave installer. The flash utility is modified
to accept the Mac Pro firmware with the Xserve as the target.

This tool has not been modified to perform a downgrade back to
the original version of Xserve firmware, hence it is suggested
that you first create a backup of your original firmware using
ROMTool that you could later use to restore the original firmware.
