There is an option to make an emergency call with a 5 time side button press. It's under Settings, Emergency SOS.
Apple will want to reset the phone anyway. You might as well do it yourself first. Hundreds of apps? You are due for a reset. Clean out the mess.

It's normal. The contacts are spring loaded to keep pressure on the connector and to wipe the contacts when you plug it in.
Never tried to delete one. They go away on their own...
Side by side my Max is quite a bit brighter than my X.
No issues at all with my Max. Works very much the same as my X.
