i saw this today.. i thought it was pretty funny, check out this easy way to mod your Safari menu to say cool stuff…like “porn mode” instead of “privacy browsing”.

That's hilarious. Replace an entire office's computers with the hacked version of Safari, and watch everyone's expression. LOL. :D

Everybody knows that the real reason for the internet is for porn, everything else is considered extra features. :p

if you had spotlight and correctly tagged mp3's... you could find that mp3 in about 3 seconds. :)

Seems like you could just easily alter the .nib file .. renaming any interface item you want. (if they did this ignore me.. i didn't read the article :p)

Oh, I thought that Safari feature was intended for online banking, shopping, or web-email on a public Mac. So people use that feature for Porn?

Naaa... it just a joke... No one looks at porn...

Some topics to get you started:
1) Create a Dashboard widget for porn.
2) Using VoiceOver to navigate porn
3) Encoding and viewing H.264 Porn video
4) Syncing your Porn with .Mac
5) Using iLife '05 with Porn
6) Using FileVault with Porn
7) Using the new DVD Player for Porn
8) Core Image with Porn
9) Automate downloading Porn with Automator
10) 64bit Porn

So what exactly is porn or privacy mode?

I think I understand, but I'm curious on the specifics. I won't have Tiger until next week, I think...

When you click on it, you get the following message - with the addition that it doesn't appear to store any cookies (the caveat being that if that site already has a cookie stored on your system, it will update), or any form information that you might enter while you're there. Sites which require cookies though still seem to work; they just don't get stored on your system when you leave 'private'

It's also bizarre to see your History tab staying static from whenever you entered Private browsing mode although the back/forward buttons still work.

It takes a few seconds (20-30 I guess depending on how long you were in private mode for) for Safari to take itself out of Private which I'm guess it uses to wipe the appropriate cookies/cache of pages etc.

It makes much more sense now, although I figured it did something like that, and its damn funny :D

Thanks, D

The song is "The Internet is for Porn" from the musical Avenue Q. I know everyword. Haha.
