Hey everyone,

Recently, my iMac (late 2012 with Fusion Drive) has been waking up during the night and the screen has been coming on. It's seems like it's since I enabled Power Nap but my question is why the screen has to turn on if it's just checking for email, updates, etc.? Here's a screenshot from my console this morning highlighting the numerous wake reasons.

Is this definitely a Power Nap thing or do you think it could be caused by something else? I don't have Time Machine set up but I do have Dropbox running in my menu bar. Any advice would be great. Maybe I'm missing something here but it doesn't make sense to turn the screen on numerous times throughout the night just to update iCloud.

Wake on network activity is turned in. If you turn that off in settings it won't wake up again.

Thanks for the quick reply. If I disable Wake for network access will it still do the Power Nap stuff?

I'd rather bring an old thread back than create a new duplicate so here goes. My iMac is still waking up at night. Here's some information about my setup:

- Late 2012 27" iMac (1TB Fusion Drive)
- No physically connected devices
- Apple Magic Trackpad, Magic Mouse and Keyboard connected via Bluetooth
- No Time Machine running
- Chrome, Mail, Skype, Tweetbot, Dropbox, 1Password, iTerm are open (and Fantastical and Day One in the menu bar) but it shouldn't matter when the iMac is asleep

This example wasn't exactly the middle of the night but it doesn't make any difference - it still woke up for no reason. I searched for the wake reason in the console and highlighted it in the screenshot attached. Hopefully someone will be able to help me.

Thanks!
