Hey guys if you go to http://www.apple.com/macosx/ you will notice that the little thing that have at the top that tells you to update you software is missing. It was there this morning. Does this mean that 10.1.4 or something else interesting might be coming out?

You were close :)

Just not 10.1.4-- only a security update

That's not bad though... I'm pretty impressed you noticed that

Very good rumor hunting, but I think you need to pay some attention to your signiture, it should be:

2 iMac G4 with Superdrive
512mb of ram
1 iPod 5gb
1 iBook 500mhz combo drive
1 TiBook as soon as the new ones come out (granted that they are better than the new iMac)

Sorry to point things out like this, I am just trying to help out. Anyway, I am not much better, my spelling is terrible.

Re: Re: 10.1.4?

me want 10.2!

ok I'm usually patient for these things, but I really use spring loaded folders a lot so.....

Ensign shouldn't it be.....

Titanium PowerBook G4 not TiBook judging by the form of the previous titles??

Or just Powerbook G4 if you really want to be spot on!!!:p

I never notice detail like that on Apples website.........:(

I want spring loaded folders too!!:)

However my mum always said.... "I want, doesn't get!!":p

Spring Folders are what I really want and Folder Actions (AppleScript)

I never know whether to use Powerbook, PBook or TiBook. I like TiBook best (After Powerbook, but its to long to write quickly!)

Ensign

I like.....

TiBook aswell..... thats what I refer to mine as......

Apples site say both Titanium PowerBook G4 and PowerBook G4 but the Titanium PowerBook G4 or should it be PowerBook G4 has Powerbook G4 on it so that answers it really doesn't it!!!:p

So is Spring loaded folders a definite or not with 10.1.4??? or will we be teased for longer???:D

"I would like spring folders please!!":p

I would hope Spring Loaded folders would come with 10.14 but I doubt it, its a major feature and therefore would be introduced in 10.2

10.2

I'm expecting big things from 10.2, so I'm not too upset that Apple is taking its time getting it out. Now if it comes out and only has a few new improvements/features, *then* I'll be pissed.

What I want...

Spring Loaded Folders.
Speed improvements.
Networking improvements.
Interface enhancements (Dock, Finder, Menus).
Kernel and BSD level improvements (better multitasking, faster).
New Quicktime *with* MPEG-4.
Support for more third party peripheral devices.
Less spinning beachball/CD/whatever-you-want-to-call-it.
Improved installer (will actually *find* apps to upgrade).
And a surprise or two.

Anybody else have something to add/delete from the list???

Matthew

a list huh...?

i think i might have a thing or two to add...

but alas the list has grown far too long to post here.

why don't you take a look here.

oh and an update is coming to the list this wekend for those who have been asking.

Also note that it should be MHz, GB and MB (b=bits, B=Bytes).

AL...

I forgot about your list. It is definitely more complete.

My list was meant as a "minimum requirement of change" for the next major release. If they don't update at least all of those areas, I'd be both surprised and angered.

And you don't want to get me mad. 'Cause when I get mad, I get stomach pains.

yeah i just saw it as another way to shamelessly plug my list.

i would be completely happy if all apple did was fix all f the glaring GUI bugs. its pretty embarassing when trying to show off osx to your windows friend and you cant even resize a window properly.
