Got my S9 45mm SS on Dec. 23, 2023 and it came with 10.2 installed. giddled around with watch faces and complications to see what I would like and making rough calculations as to which would suck the battery faster (Carrot Weather with a lot of notifications and any podcast app with a lot of subscriptions, such as old time radio shows). I have the watch set to always-on-display, with lowest brightness (still plenty bright for me, even with old eyes). Recharge every night with at or slightly greater than 50% battery life left.

Upgraded to 10.3 No noticeable change in battery life

Upgraded to 10.3.1 and put it on the charger last night, kinda forgetting about it as I watched the special congressional election in New York, took watch off charger and put charger away - still in a thinking about election mode.

When I went to bed, I wondered if I really had charged it. Ah, no problem.

Woke up up at 4am, made coffee and looked at my watch for notifications. Hmmn, battery is at 36%; guess I must not have put it on the charger. So put it back on the charger and took it off at 5:30 am with a full charge. By 6:30 am it was down to 64% battery. Checked battery health (100%). So then I searched Macrumors, figuring battery calibration? Nope - still having rapid battery loss.

Bit more searching on MR and then unpaired and re-paired the watch, restoring from a this am backup and charged again to 100% and started wearing it again; now noticing what I think of as a normal battery drop of 5% in 214 minutes or 71 hours of battery time.

This semi detailed post of what I did may/may not help anyone. The complications I have that are actively and somewhat routinely updating are Carrot Weather (sub), Overcast Podcast(sub) and Steps - Activity Tracker (paid). Calendars 5 basically only updates or notifies with regards to my dialysis. Phone, Apple Music and Just Press Record are on-demand. I guess the battery display complication is a constant updater too.

What did your battery graph look like? I’m having the problem that sometimes after I charge the watch to 100%, it will rapidly discharge and when I check the battery graph it isn’t showing anything.
This is a S8 45mm SS and still on 9.6.2. This happened several times now and if I reboot the watch it stops and starts showing again in the battery graph.
In the graph where it isn’t showing, it discharged completely (I got low battery warning when I woke up and died shortly after). After recharging completely and rebooting it started showing again but even the charging isn’t showing, so it still needed a reboot.

@anodibu My battery graph looked like the first portion pf your graph, up until the disappeared part. That’s when I plugged back in, charged tofull and the problem repeated. Tried turning both the watch and phone off. When that didn’t work, I unpaired, turned both off, turned both on and re-paired. That worked.

No idea why.

I have a similar issue. I have an Ultra 2 since day 1 (when it came out). I loved the battery for a long time. Recently (as in the last week) i noticed battery is dying so fast. I think this is about the same time it updated to 10.3.1.

Yesterday my watch fully die around 4pm and I charger the watch to 100%. Around 7:30pm I put it on and kept it on overnight. I always sleep with my watch to monitor sleep. Woke up this morning to 26% battery. This is NOT normal and expected.

I have not installed any new apps to my watch. I also have Carrot for weather and a few complications on the screen (but mindful that most of these are off during sleep).

I just rest and unpair the watch and will update if this fixes it.

Ouch! Do you know the battery health on your watch?

Before un-pair/re-pair I’d recommend to disable background refresh for a day or night. I suspect a rogue app (update).
I have not noticed anything like you on my Ultra 2
