I don't care how many times I watch it, the ability of that many people to sync up and perform the song is incredible. Dave Grohl has responded and says they will schedule a date.

I would really like to know how in the h*ll the Sound Engineer synced these amazing musicians together. Would love to see his project/pan sheets!

I was blown away by the energy, love, peace and devotion for each other that emerged from this project that was captured in the video!

Cheers

I have one theory, the lights on the tower might mean something for timing.

I really would like to see the sound recording (mics) layout for all instruments/singers.

YES!, 3x orange 1xgreen the green is the full beat timing (don't know the wright word atm) "four-on-the-floor!" :D

Cheers

I was actually VERY close to going to see them a few weeks ago. I'm only ~3 hours by car from Citi Field, the logistics just didn't work out though as I had vacation 2 days after and was going to be driving for that also.

Hi guys,

PSN EUROPE has written an article for those who are interested in the Sound Design & Engineering!

Francesco%20Penolazzi%20%28pictured%20left%20with%20Ferrari%29.jpg

The rest of the audio team comprised sound designer Francesco Penolazzi (pictured left with Ferrari)

A seven-minute YouTube clip of the performance, rounded off by a heartfelt plea from organiser Fabio Zaffagnini to the members of the band, soon went viral (18 million views so far). It quickly reached the attention of the ‘nicest man in rock’ Dave Grohl – who responded with a video message humbly accepting the invitation.

Enjoy!

Cans for a conventional click track were only available for 250 musicians, so the other participants followed a ‘luminous click’ provided by twelve DTS LED fixtures, chosen for their ultra-fast on/off speed and mounted on the 18-foot (5m) high tower hosting conductor Marco Sabiu (right).

Cheers

Agreed.... this was freaking cool to watch and listen too and it actually sounds good!!!!!

I love watching the long shots that are focused down the drum line when a roll or cymbal crash is done and you see them "ALL" do it. Love it!
