In fact works normally for me. All ports are built on ppc natively from PPCPorts and installed on 10.6.8 Rosetta via PPCPorts.

Good to know. At this point if yt-dlp continues the current python limitation and continues support of the safari parser (which is what this uses for HD formats) I’ll run it into the ground.

In the future of course Mac ports is an option, but after 6 years of using GCC 4.0/Xcode 2.5 for portable builds that don’t depend on Mac ports it’s a hard change unless I have to.

As long as you need to support Tiger, it won’t even be straightforward, since MacPorts threw away 10.4 support, and PPCPorts is only marginally better in this regard (since I do not officially support 10.4 either, and never did).

See, that’s the craziest thing. The build system has designed for this is insane in the way that I made it for this program has not only outlived tiger support date but also Mac ports deprecation. There were zero issues with making version 7.2.7 since I used my own build system.

I mean with enough effort I can force it to work some way with current Mac ports. The thing always with this was it worked on panther 10.3.9. which hasn’t been supported by Mac ports since like 2008. I was always trying to one up Mac ports support since I was in total control… But at this point it’s questionable on tiger so yea. If I have to move from 2007’s Xcode version it will be sad but I’ll make sure it’s for a valid reason…
