In my car I have wireless CarPlay and with my iPhone X CarPlay would always automatically connect and start when I would unlock my car. However with the 11 Pro CarPlay doesn't start. I see that it's connected to the CarPlay's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, but it won't start. When I disconnect Bluetooth on my 11 Pro and then reconnect again, CarPlay almost immediately starts.

So with my old X and my wife's 7 Plus it works flawlessly, but with my 11 Pro it doesn't. All devices are on iOS 13.1, so it seems specific to the 11 Pro for me. Could it be hardware related, that the 11 Pro's Bluetooth connection speed is much quicker and therefore connects before Wi-Fi or something and therefore doesn't trigger the CarPlay start?

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

I did a test:

- Wi-Fi on and Bluetooth off on iPhone
- Open car and wait for Wi-Fi to connect
- After Wi-Fi connects turn Bluetooth on on iPhone
- Bluetooth connects but CarPlay doesn't start
- Disconnect Bluetooth from CarPlay on iPhone and reconnect Bluetooth, CarPlay starts

So it seems like a software bug for just the 11 Pro.

The issue was fixed for me on iOS 13.1.1. I open the door, sit down and CarPlay is already on screen. Perfetto! Let’s hope everything is still great tomorrow when I get in my car with 13.1.2 ;)

I'm having issues on my iPhone X and Alpine iLX-107 (wireless carplay) since 13.1. My husbands 8 on 13.1 doesn't seem to have issues.

It took forever to connect, in the last week or so and finally stopped connecting altogether.
