I like the concept of the new handoff features, but I feel like it is too sensitive. My HomePod mini is on my office desk and every time I pick up my phone to do something I get the haptic feedback and the banner for handoff displays. This is regardless of whether I’m playing media. Is there a way to turn down the sensitivity?

I was just about to post with this same problem - it's such a pain!

I've dug around the iOS and HomePod mini settings areas and can't find anything to switch it off, if anyone else has a solution I'd really appreciate it!

Settings > General > Airplay & Handoff > Switch off transfer to HomePod.

It annoys me too. I still want to be able to transfer to the HomePod by bringing it close but with out the vibrate and taking over the screen just because its near’ ish. The way it worked on the old HomePod was just fine.

I've had something new happen to me today after updating to iOS 14.4. When the handoff notice appears, the haptic feedback rumbles on for several seconds. Like the iPhone is having a seizure.
