Apple Store SoHo Reopens Saturday July 14th After Extensive Expansion

Apple closed the Apple Store SoHo, New York City's first Apple Retail Store, late last year for a renovation and expansion into the space formerly occupied by a United States Post Office.

SoHo has grown significantly, gaining sales space for twice as many products, a new theater with extra seating for special events and workshops, NYC's first business-focused Briefing Room, and a much larger Genius Bar.

The store, located at 103 Prince Street, will reopen Saturday, July 14th at 9AM. The first 3,000 visitors will receive commemorative t-shirts.

I only read articles I am interested in. I couldn't give a hoot about an Apple shop in New York. The idea of an Apple shop in Soho in London was interesting.

I wouldn't have looked at the article if the title wasn't misleading.

And while you might prefer that the title provide additional information, it does contain a fairly obvious clue -- the "H" in "SoHo" is capitalized. That capitalization is obligatory when referring to the New York neighborhood and discouraged when referring to the London neighborhood. In addition, this site previously has reported on the Temporary closing of the SoHo Apple Store, so a reference to the "reopening" provides an additional clue to regular MacRumors readers.

I totally got your point to the replies to the other poster. I'm not add to the other crazy comments (really), but the title said "Re-open". Plus the NY Soho is spelled SoHo vs the UK Soho. SoHo is short for South of Houston street. That's why its spelled SoHo.

I was thinking if it was in Soho UK, where would they put one? Very tight spaces. Besides there is an Apple store near Regent street. Too close imo.

btw guys NYc was designed after parts of London. This is why you have a lot of
the areas named after places in London. Central Park aka Hyde Park. Both look ver similar. Anyway... back to it.

I think many people went early on just for the shirts because I saw people outside ask where they received the shirts from and then went to the store. The store is much bigger in the first floor and the theater capacity was expanded. The shirts were gray and the front side had an apple followed by "SoHo". The back side says "Designed in California" and they came in a white box. People are reselling them on ebay.
