So after updating to 15.4 I had a good day yesterday where everything seemed to work until I kept getting "storage full" notifications. I went into settings and erased a ton of podcasts (12GB worth) to make space. Eventually the phone was totally unable to even scroll so I had to restart. Every restart had something broken (no cellular service, or images missing) and eventually I got almost everything working. It finally works at the bare minimum and all my photos are gone.

Updaters beware who have smaller sized storage phones.

It sounds like you had a bad update, or something became corrupt. Do you either use icloud photos, or have a good backup of all of your photos? I would probably restore the phone back to new with a computer. If you do, I would not use a backup as that could bring the issue back. That is definitely interesting, never had that happen after any update.

I installed iOS 15.4 on my iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPadOS 15.4 on my iPad Air 2020 and iPad mini 5 without encountering this issue. I agree it sounds like your update went bad somehow.

Same problem nuked my phone today. It has been escalated to Apple engineering after I spent half hour on the phone today with Apple Support. It is a bug. They are calling me back on Monday and meantime advised to nuke and restore from iCloud.
