New images of Apple's purported low cost iPhone popped up this morning, supplied by Australian writer Sonny Dickson. Depicted are five different color variations of the outer plastic shell of the low-cost iPhone, which look similar to previously leaked images.

The shells are shown in bright, almost neon colors of pink, blue, green, yellow, and white. Though there's no guarantee that the plastic shells are authentic, they share the same camera holes and logo positioning as former images.

Last week MacRumors provided renderings of what the completed low cost iPhone might look like, and Techdy released a video showing both front and rear parts of the upcoming plastic iPhone. According to the site, the colorful plastic shells will each accompany a black front panel.

Apple's low-cost iPhone is expected to be released later this year alongside the company's flagship iPhone 5S, possibly as early as September or October.

Would probably look ugly and unappealing to me at first but I would probably grow into it and liking the looks and design. Not my cup of tea for me right now...

I would think this would look badass with iOS 7

1. I think someone is forgetting about the 3G and 3Gs.
2. If the antenna is on the inside than plastic will would allow for a better signal.
3. This is for the low cost iPhone. How do you make an iPhone cheaper? ding ding ding use plastic.

No offense, but there's really nothing extraordinary in your "predictions". Though, they do seem rather reasonable, for what it's worth.

About 6 months ago I took a break from iOS and decided to go for the nexus 4 which I have a love /hate relationship with .. Long story short both android and iOS have come a long way to be decent alternatives ..I for one can't wait to go back to iOS especially after I've fallen in love with iOS 7 on my wife's iPhone 5 ..I do believe that the iPhone 4 and 5 designs have made them a bit joyless but a colored iPhone is a welcomed change .. Blue or green please with iOS 7 :) can't wait for the launch

Can anyone explain what happens to the iPhone 4S once the 5S and the budget iPhone comes out presumably for $300-349? Carriers subsidize $449 for the 4 right now and will do the same for 4S, yet the budget iPhone will be cheaper and better (w/ 4 inch retina). And I don't see Apple taking $100 hit here, nor do I see budget iPhone being $449 because that just beats the whole purpose of budget?

Any reasonable explanation?
