16GB is still the minimum? Is this a joke?

This is 2014, what a massive joke. 16GB is woefully inadequate, this will affect user experience.

I'm surprised that they kept 16Gb as the entry level. But it is nice that you can get 64GB for what they used to charge for 32GB.

Most phones still come with 16GB as the base option because for most people that is enough.

I completely agree. I mean, data contracts for mobiles are so expensive these days - I barely get my 50 MB/month -, and absolutely no cloud solutions of any kind exist anywhere. So it is completely pointless not adding storage.
Just to give an example, music. I have a lot of music I listen to every day, averaging about 2312 hours/day of music, and there is no solution for me. I have wifi all around, but there just are no services that can help.
And that is just only one example. Don't buy the 16 GB people! Apple is stupid like that!

Me too. I was hoping for the base to be 32GB and save the extra $100 but at least now the extra $100 will get me 64GB. Apple put out a big incentive with the 64GB to get that extra $100.

how is 16gb still the base line? HONESTLY how long would that last with all these HD apps pictures videos etc?

So then instead of having a 32gb at 199 and 64 at 299 they make it so they charge you an arm and a leg for the 64 gb, take out the 32 gb, and leave you with a 48gb gap between the two options???

I was going to upgrade instantly until i saw the iP+ was 399 for a 64gb considering there isn't a 32 gb at the 16gb on that phone will last a month before its full.

This is a bs ****ed up scheme to make customer pay more $.

**** em, I've had enough of their BS now. 32GB should have been minimum years ago.

It's amazing that it's 2014 and people still believe that what works for them works for everyone. 16 may not be enough for me, but I know plenty of people who have 16 and have no complaints about it at all. Get what works for you, I know I will with 128.

Yeah. This seems like exactly what they want the customer to think. 64gb has never been more affordable in the iphone.

Buy what you want and quit bitching about the options that don't appeal to you.

Smart move by Apple to increase revenue. Now all those fence sitters will come out of their pockets with an extra $100 for the 64 instead of settling for the 16. Many are like me. 16 is too small, but not by enough to really justify 64. So great, 32 is the new bottom level. Oh no, it's either 16 or spend an extra 100 bucks for 64. Well Apple, here's your hundred because 16 doesn't work anymore. Smart revenue move by Apple, crappy for the consumer.

EXACTLY.

This Cook character has always been a capitalistic. He has ****ed up apple big time since day 1.

He has ****ed up the customer experience at stores by cutting down on staff members and having 1 employee help 4 customers at once, which takes up to 1 hour now before you get the **** out of there for a simple question.

Now he is scheming people out of an extra $100.

16GB is actually enough for a lot of users. Apple will no doubt sell tons of them, so why shouldn't they offer it?

Exactly my thought upon unveiling also. Excellent marketing strategy.

This is also true. I've had my 5S for almost a year and still have 18 gigs free (32gb model). This is probably due to the fact that I have probably 25 go to apps and a ton of pictures but no music. I stream internet radio instead. Starbucks even has a song of the week download for free and I very seldom keep the download. If I like what I hear, I just add a station to jango and pandora.

That being said, if I had a 16gb for 2 years, I may fill it up due to pictures. If that happened as a consumer, I'd naturally go to the next size and I'd rather have a 64 than a 32 considering the 64gb is now the same price point of what a 32gb was.

Yep. It's a GREAT move by Apple.

I suppose all the complainers won't be buying one then... since it's "woefully inadequate" eh?

Ya... riiiight. They'll be refreshing their computers to pre-order Thursday night fast as everyone else.

It's laughable. This was simply good business by Apple. If you can't understand that, go back to Russia!
