so since this is my first venture to macs I was wondering on how do I back up my data if I only have 2 drives. I bought the seagate XT for cheap at bestbuy and I want to keep my data on my stock drive and make the XT as my new primary drive.. Im looking into enclosures for my stock drive but im not sure how do I go about transferring datas as it stands now i used up about 200gb -/+ already... thanks!!

    mbp 2010 15" i5 8gb ram

im thinking i might need a 3rd drive but you guys may have better ideas than me..

I have ben researching the Momentus XT 500 and the WD Scorpio Black 750 for a week now. To be honest I am sick of trying to decide! Lol. I have read more negatives lately on the XT and that worries me a bit. I'm leaning towards the Scorpio Black but for some reason keep looking at the XT. I may say screw it and get a Crucial M4 512 LOL.

Sorry, to answer your question about switching drives and transferring files, there are several threads on it as well as YouTube vids. Do a search and your answer will be there. I would do a fresh OS install on the new drive as well.
