okay mac mall is running a sale on a lacie little big disk t-bolt 234 free shipping and if you do ebucks 23 dollars in ebucks

http://www.ebay.com/itm/LaCie-90001...ltDomain_0&hash=item3cc8e66dac#ht_1673wt_1064

this comes to 210 pull the 2 500gb hdds and put in 2 of these ssds on sale at buy.com

http://www.buy.com/prod/intel-330-series-240gb-2-5-sata-iii-solid-state-drive-ssd/234637484.html

this is a 240gb ssd for 170 and a 20 off rebate makes it 150 so 2x 150 is 300 plus 210 for the little big disk is 510 .

that is 510 for a 480gb ssd in raid0. or 240gb in raid1 or 2 disks as jbod.
my threads on how to build this is here

What about trim?

I have used a lot of ssd's trim is overrated for a lot of users.

I have to say that if you really need trim for a 480gb raid0 ssd you should look into a pegasus r4 or r6 not a lacie little big disk. of course if you don't use raid0 and run it as JBOD you can do trim.

Oh by the way I purchased the pair of 240gb ssd's and the lacie. I will build it and post some tests in a week or so.
