Hello,

I have a 2006 Black Macbook running OSX Lion. My question is: If I were to purchase a 2009 Macbook Pro, would I be able to put my current HDD into the MBP and eventually upgrade to Yosemite? Are these HDDs interchangeable?

Yes, but unless you've already upgraded it you would be going backwards. You're better off using the migration wizard to pull all your old apps, files and settings onto your new Mac.

Yes you can do that and there will be no problem. One thing I should mention is that the OEM Macbook drives are a bit slow compared to the OEM 2009 Macbook Pro drive and even slower when compared to newer hard drives.
