I was having OS X read an article to me today while I worked, and as it read, it said Barack Obama and then immediately said, "deal"! Then it said HIllary Clinton and said "deny"! Basically, the speech synthesizer was taking the abbreviated party/state designations and reading them out phonetically. Looking at the article, I noticed something somewhat amusing. Are America's 2008 political fortunes being forecast by ironic party abbreviations?

BARACK OBAMA - (D-IL) = DEAL: An agreement that is mutually beneficial.
HILLARY CLINTON - (D-NY) = DENY: To give a refusal to.
JOHN MCCAIN - (R-AZ) = RAZZ: Any of various derisive sounds of disapproval.

Hm. Only time will tell I guess.

So the question for America is...Deal or No Deal?

    :) Indeed.

Also, "D-IL" can bring to mind "Dill", the name of a popular food vendor in America, known for its fine pickles.

DILL PICKLE - A disagreeable or troublesome situation; a plight.

Probably pushing it, but worth mentioning. Falls out of that nice 4 character thing though.

So, maybe the question for America is...Dill or No Dill? :p (Sorry for that).

That's funny. And probably accurate. I've said as much here, and I'm not alone. Obama is it. Deal!

Leiberman's been sticking up for McCain a lot lately. Renounced the Democratic party in a riveting act of betrayal, becoming a conservative-leaning Independent. If McCain is benefiting from having his back watched and Leiberman singing his praises... I wonder how America will view him in the long term. Oh, wait...

JOSEPH LEIBERMAN (I-CN) = I CON: To swindle (a victim) by first winning his or her confidence; dupe.

    Doh. :)

You should add that to your sig. He may be the GOP VP candidate. Or at least in some cabinet position offered by McCain. I'm not saying he will be, it would be pretty stupid for both of them if he was. But it could happen. Still don't know what Gore was thinking with that one.

    Didn't work.

Slightly off topic, but I just caught up on my Bleach, and your avatar is a bad leader. Unless you're evil. Wait, don't spoil it for me. Love that clip though, used to hang out in the same places as he did.

So, now with Democrats feeling for the knife in their backs from I-CN, I bring you the Republican Governor of Alaska...

Seems like Palin's going to represent a lot of votes for the GOP.

What? "Rack" might also refer to... Oh, I hadn't thought of that. :)
Now I feel dirty. I've joined the sexist media.

No she's not. Most independents should be disgusted by the dirty attacks by the McCain campaign, the blatant attempt at pandering to women, and the fact that the couple years she has spent in politics has been riddled scandals.
