So I have a macbook pro that was given to me. It would not power at all but when it was plugged in the magsafe would stay a solid green (still wouldint boot up of show any signs of life). So I replaced the magsafe. Now the macbook charges fine and the battery indicator works. Problem is when I press the power button one of the MB fans runs for 3 seconds and stops. The front light in the front also flashes once when the power button is pressed. Any help? Thanks!

in addition when the battery is plugged in there's a part of the board that gets very hot. The section is covered with a black heat shield.
