It's ok, just buy carbon credits & poison to your hearts content. People might care about GW, but politicians sure don't

It's worse than that: They, on behalf of their campaign donors, want all these pesky statistics to go away. Hence why they just put three climate change deniers in the senate committee chairs for NASA, NOAA, and the EPA.

Do you? I don't recall seeing you express much care over the issue.

Remember the Gandhi quote, "when the people lead, the leaders will follow"?

    Here's your chance.

NASA: "We said 2014 was the warmest year on record... but we're only 38% sure we were right."

    • Nasa’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies claimed its analysis of world temperatures showed ‘2014 was the warmest year on record’
    • But it emerged that GISS’s analysis is subject to a margin of error
    • Nasa admits this means it is far from certain that 2014 set a record at all

Of course it includes Democrats. The whole system has become horribly corrupt. Though there is one key difference: while Democrats can, as you say, look the other way, they cannot actively support legislation that would put a stop to all research into it. Not without upsetting their constituents. This isn't as much of a problem for Republicans.

Not doing a dang thing about it is effectively killing the "reasearch".

****GW, OMG the world is going to end***** blah blah blah.

If you look at the map, you will see that Alaska, in fact, is where the strongest warming is. The equatorial regions not nearly so much. That should not surprise anyone.

The research that NASA and NOAA does isn't just to confirm climate change, but also to find ways of hopefully mitigating it. Giving us some kind chance should our politicians ever get their heads out of their *****.

Heh... we really do have to stop with the whole "saving the planet" shtick. The Earth has been a fireball, an ice ball, and everything in-between. It's faced countless catastrophic events and always recovered. What we really need to be concerned about is saving ourselves. The human race isn't nearly as tough.

George Carlin said it best: "The Planet is fine, the people are ****ed!"

Actually, if you'd noticed on the map, Alaska is where the greatest amount of warming has occurred.

    ----------

There you go, demonstrating how much you care about Global Warming again.

Scientifically speaking it was "the latest in a series of warm years, in a series of warm decades".

Do you seriously think it would be better to turn off the instruments and not know what is going on?

We already know how to mitigate climate change: replace hundreds of coal and oil-fired power plants with nuclear power plants. Nuclear power is the only energy source with zero greenhouse emissions, provides power 24/7, and can produce the hundreds of gigawatts of base-load power we need today and in the future.

    What are you retorting to?

I said if you want a chill, move to Alaska. Is Alaska not chilly now? Is it the Miami of the north suddenly?

And I continue to hope 2015 is warmer than 2014

Just pointing out that the greatest amount of warming is happening there.

    Interesting, no?

    No?

    Whatever.

Interesting. Where I live, 2014 was the coldest year on record.

The fact that GOP keeps saying "you have confidence intervals, thus your findings are invalid" only digs the hole deeper for them.

The fact that climate change activists keep saying "nuclear power is scary" only digs the hole deeper for all of us.

the biggest reason the GOP denies global warming is not because of what it does but because of what it would take to take care of it. the sacrifices and the government intervention that would be needed. so they choose the easy road deny it all together.

Given that the last hottest year was 2010 and, even if they're correct that 2014 is the hottest year given the 38% probability, the difference between 2010 and 2014 is only 0.02°C. That's a pretty flat line.

Looks like The Pause is still underway!
