    Hello guys,

My old Ipad 2 is currently jailbroken on iOS 6.1 and I wanted to give it a try on iOS 7.1.1 (mostly because of the Personal Hotspot feature)

So I downloaded the 7.1.1 ipsw files, set my Ipad 2 to DFU mode and hit restore on iTunes :D . But I keep getting the error 3194 (after serveral tries)

Which made me wonder is it too late for me to upgrade my Ipad to 7.1.1 now that Apple has released 8.0.1 and stop allowing it ?

So is there anyway I can upgrade to iOS 7.1.1 now ? Please help me

    Suggestions are much appreciated

You cannot upgrade an iPad to anything but the currently signed version of iOS. At this time, that is version 8.1.

    Not possible.
You can only update or restore to the latest 8.1
Manually downloading the ipsw file and trying restoring by selecting that file hasn't worked for over 5-6 years now.

Just curious why you would think it's still possible?

iOS 8 itself was released on September 17, 2014.
iOS 7.1.2 was released on June 30, 2014.

And the version you are asking about, 7.1.1 was released on April 22, 2014.

If you were hoping to get 7.1.1 you are a little over 6 months late.

According to what I read, a week ago people were still able to roll back their upgrade from iOS 8 to iOS 7.1.2 with iTunes, using the 7.1.2 setup file, I'm trying my luck asking around :)

Ah. OK. No, that window for 7.1.2 closed about a week after Apple released 8.0. Apple actually signed 7.1.2 for about a week after 8.0 was released, so maybe that was the week you read about, IDK.

But it hasn't been signed for quite some time now.
