last night i acquired the 3.0 beta software and decided to try it out...
all seems well except the ipod seems to report the battery is always full and never depletes
any help?

restore the firmware see if that helps? and remember to always be disconnected from the net when you sync your media :p otherwise apple will make your iPod inopperable

Mine doesn't have that problem. A restore sounds like a good idea. Have your restarted your iPod? That also might help.

so now apparently, i reset my ipod to shut it off by holding both the power and and home buttons. and now it wont start at all, it wasnt connected to my computer and it was working fine the minute before

Did you obtain 3.0 legally or illegally? If you obtained it illegally it might not work.

Why did you force it off? Wouldn't a normal power down have sufficed?

i obtained the .ipsw file illegally, theres a nice little website that has a download for each hardware version for both the ipod and iphone, as for the ipod not turning on i guess it was still shutting off because it randomly turned on itself like 10 min later
one thing ive noticed about the new software is its very VERY slow but thats understandable

What was the link to the website

Definite restore. Did you restore from a back up or a complete restore?

And why is this in the "iPod touch Hacks" section?

just to clear everything up time seemed to fix all my issues without me even doing anything.... i can not provide a link sorry you will have to find it on your own
