3GS Battery compatible with 3G?

Hi Guys,
Am thinking of getting a replacement battery for my 3G as it's beginning to get tired! Anyway, do any of you guys know if Apple will replace my 3G battery with the new 3GS type? If it is compatible, then it should make a huge difference as more powerful battery powering less powerful processor?

I dont think apple will do it, but you might do it your self. There was someone on here who installed 2 batterys on their iphone.

This question is obviously asked in the wrong context.

If you pay for Apple to replace the battery, they will give you the compatible battery that is suitable for your generation of iPhone.

Whether or not 3GS battery is compatible with 3G has nothing to do with your main question.
