If I were to buy a 42mm band for my 44mm Apple Watch, would it matter?

I understand they’re compatible, but is there an actual difference between the two (like fit or actual strap size)?

Except for the sport loops. They’re slightly different. The plastic connectors are slight bigger on the 44. They’re more rounded I guess you could say. This means that when using a 42 band on a 44 watch, the connector won’t quite go to the edge of the watch case. This is minor and the band itself conceals it for the most part.

What about using a newer 44mm on a 42mm watch - would that work?
