Latest semi-official word is, #45 will pull out of the Iran Treaty to delay Iran making its own nuke. Lets see what happens now. (just my 1 comment is: if now treaties can change with each new administration, people like Kim have an easy excuse) Update: AAAAANNNNNND it just happened (15 min after my post). #45 is becoming exceedingly predictable.
Just remarkably stupid, on every level. Even if you don’t like the deal and wish it were stronger, the last thing we should do is break the deal like this before trying to get something better. What possible incentive do Iran or our European allies have to trust the US to keep its commitments now?
I really fail to see what the US would gain from this. The stupidity and short sightedness of him and his minions is truly beyond me.
He clearly has other interests in mind. His minions are just busy moving the goalposts to make everything appear part of a masterful strategy.
And he also just announced to Kim Jong-un (and China and South Korea) that a nuclear deal with the US isn’t worth the paper it’s written on.
Its almost like they advise him not to do it and then he does just the opposite out of spite. I wonder how many times he was told not to walk on the grass and did it anyway.
Thank God. It never should have been passed in the first place. Trump may not be articulate or professional, but I like what he is doing.
This was the most progress made with nuclear arms in the middle east to date, inspectors were allowed onsite regularly and all member nations agreed it's been successful. It's too bad that we're devolving back into an isolationist policy like this, the world is less safe and united as a result.
The program allowed Iran to enrich uranium, and restrictions would end in the future. However, we would be naive to think they were not already ignoring those restrictions. Just this one aspect alone is worth squashing this garbage agreement.
Just because its him doing it? What exactly is so great about this? Besides nothing. *Just saw your previous post. As others mentioned, this is the best deal for overseeing nukes in the middle east and its also a bad look heading into negotiations with NK.
Inspectors have been onsite regularly, as per the deal which by all standards was a success. What you're thinking of here is North Korea, where Trump is about to make a deal with absolutely zero groundwork laid.
Why? What development do you think is going to come out this that will be positive or beneficial to the United States?
That is kind of humorous. This guy does realize we agreed to give 24 days notice before we do an inspection? Yet, states it almost cheat proof. Sounds to me like it is cheat inviting. --- Post Merged, May 8, 2018 --- Giving 24 days notice before inspecting.
24 days at military sites with no record of nuclear testing. On demand at nuclear sites. According to the experts, 24 days isn't in any way enough time to clean up evidence of nuclear research/development when you are dealing with something that has a half life in the millions of years.
It allowed them to enrich uranium with the agreement of inspections. Iran would be given 24 days notice these inspections would take place. In the future the restrictions would be lifted. Very worrisome.
