Would you upgrade if those were the only improvements?

why are people asking for faster device when the 5 is blazing fast

apple fanboy will look for any reason to hop on the wagon

I plan on upgrading simply because I can. No real reason, but have an open line, have the money so why not? This makes me an apple fanboy?

I upgrade every cycle so no need to stop that trend with the 5s. IF apple decided the low cost phone was the only one coming out then no thanks but a faster phone with more under the hood is enough of a reason.

I'm looking forward to iphone 6, my iphone 5 is fine for now and I'm stuck in non S cycle :D:)

I'm happy with my 5 probably i'll wait for 6.Those features isnt enough for upgrade,i think. But battery improving is a big deal anyway.

This is the first upgrade I'm going to skip. Not really feeling any of the supposed upgrades. The 5 has enough to keep me satisfied. LTE was the big missing feature for me along with the bigger screen. Now that I have them I think I'm good till next year.

None of what is listed here is really worth it. The fingerprint sensor maybe, but thats more just a cool thing. My iPhone 5 camera does a fantastic job with pictures and is plenty fast, I really don't feel like I've run into a situation where I've said 'man, I wish this phone was faster...', and LTE-A means nothing to me on Verizon.

Soooo that being said, those are really not enough to warrant an upgrade, however I may still be in line for it because I have a disease that draws me to new shiny things.... But here's hoping for a larger screen, preferably 4.7-5"

Pretty much 100% confirmed? Yea ok. Not even close to 100% confirmed.

Yeah cause Apple just randomly puts code in iOS for fingerprint biometric sensors for the hell of it with no intention of actually using one

Just because they have the code for it in iOS 7 means nothing. This kind if thing happens all the time. Sorry but unless you work for Apple you have no idea if this will happen on the next iphone or not. They could have added the code for a future phone.

Sure smarty, then back up your claim of "this kind of thing happens all the time" and get some examples of Apple having code for things in iOS an not using them ;)

I'll be waiting with baited breath...

... until then, fingerprint sensor is pretty much 100% confirmed.

Smarty? Look I am so tired of arguing with people on this site. Sorry but I don't think just because they add the code it is 100% confirmed the next iphone has a fingerprint scanner. Believe what you want, but telling people it is 100% confirmed is just not true. Apple has said nothing about.

Especially considering initial rumors of a fingerprint scanner from AuthenTec were for the iPad. Which will also use iOS 7.

---------------------

I'm going to upgrade but only cause I have a 4S and I want LTE. Aside from that I'll take whatever it is they put in it.

Fingerprint scanner? Meh if implemented properly, which it won't be due to the limiting nature of iOS (Facebook). At the same time I don't know how I'd feel about too much of the phone and apps having access to my fingerprint. Not a big deal today, but that can turn into a slippery slope.

Dual LED flash? Meh, wouldn't be upset with it. Not exactly earth shattering.

Better camera/CPU/GPU are givens I think.

I'd actually really like NFC. A lot of places I shop take NFC type payments and I think if implemented properly could help me watch my funds easier and better. I could use NFC tags in a few places too.

I'm surprised Apple hasn't done more with GPS/wifi automation. Get to work and phone goes to silent. After 11-12pm DnD mode comes on but only when I'm home. Things like that.

Sorry if I offended.

I guess it's kind of like someone who believes that their team will win the championship that year due to signs pointing to it such as health, added free agents, new coaching change whatever... and then you come along and say "NOPE it's not 100% confirmed until we see them win it"

Well of course it's not 100% fact, but here on macrumors people like to talk about rumors and speculate what will happen. That's why I said "pretty much 100% confirmed" and linked to the story so people can make up their own opinion.

Offended me? No not in the least. Hope you get your fingerprint scanner.

I'm really interested in the Samsung phones now.

The iPhone as a product is getting pretty stale.

Well since you just joined today and atm have less than 10 posts at least we won't miss you too much ;)

Both iPhone and Android are pretty stale by now if you already know the in's-n--out's of both systems. Only reason an Android wouldn't be stale is if you've never tried one and want the shiny new toy to explore.

Personally I couldn't care less about the Samsung gimmicks like smart pause/stay/scroll etc.

I have never tried one, but I'm going to try the Galaxy Note 3.

Not enough for me to upgrade my launch day 5 which is in top condition still.
I want a bigger screen more than anything else and we're not getting that this time round. So I will probably leave it.

I have a launch day iPhone 4 so I'll definitely be upgrading. Canada only has 3 year contracts so I cant even complain about being stuck in the "S" cycle. I'm stuck in the Canadian telecom cycle. :(
