I am getting a 3rd gen iTouch tonight or tomorrow. Most likely the 32GB iTouch, because 8GB is small .

What are some MUST HAVE APPS for the iTouch? :p

Congrats, I just upgraded my 32 gig 1g to a 64 gig 3g the other day and love it. As far as apps, man there are so many good ones. A few suggestions.

Remote: If you use your computer as your stereo, this is a nifty free app that lets you use your ipod as a remote over your wireless network to control your itunes library.

Pandora Radio: This ones a no-brainer. It's a free internet streaming radio app. Makes personalized radio stations based on your favorite artists/songs/etc...

Rolando 2: An excellent premium platforming game, just read the reviews. I haven't encountered anyone who's played this game that didn't love it.

Another game idea is Apples HoldEm poker app, if thats your thing. I've wasted several hours on this one.

Maybe these will get you going, but you'll find your favorite apps just by exploring the app store, reading reviews, and not being afraid to occasionally spend a buck and try some out. Have fun with it!

-Apple's remote app is very useful for me, as well as iTap for a wireless mouse and keyboard. Mocha VNC lite is also useful for controlling a computer.

-Air Sharing is great for storing files on your iPod touch, and viewing them from it. It's basically like a wireless USB drive
-textPlus is convenient for free text messaging
-Stanza is a great, free, Ebook reader
-NetNewsWire is a very simple RSS feed reader, and I rely on it a lot, especially since the touch doesn't have always on internet. I can download some news when I have a connection, and read it later when I don't.
-Pandora Box is useful for finding new apps
-myHomework is an excellent app for organizing your classes and homework if you're still in school
-urbanspoon is great for finding a place to eat
-Graphing Calculator is a great graphing calculator, if you need one.
-Pandora and Simplify Music are nice

Here are some of the games I have:
-Cro-Mag rally
-Doodle Jump
-Enigmo
-Flight Control
-Gridlocked: Rush Hour
-Real Racing
-Sol Free Solitaire

  • Flight control
  • Flip clock
  • shazam
  • sheep launcher (yes it sounds strange, but real fun :D)
  • airport mania
  • metal gear solid
  • mobileme idisk (if you have MM)
  • just anything that appeals to you, if its free or cheap then just get it. whats the worst that could happen

have fun with your new iPod Touch ;)
