    Actually, it's $140 and more importantly, it's recertified/reconditioned and carries only a 60-day warranty not backed by Apple. I'd rather pay $149 plus sales tax ($21½ more in my locality) for an Apple Certified Refurbished model and get a one-year warranty backed by Apple.

    And "no tax" is misleading. They may not collect sales tax, but unless you live in a state that doesn't have sales tax, you are legally required to pay it on your own (usually via a form included with your state income tax paperwork.)

    Yes, I am aware that most people don't pay this, so please don't point out that obvious fact. The fact that most people cheat on their taxes doesn't make it right or legal, and MacBytes shouldn't advocate tax evasion.
