Another relic we can do without in government. Negro? Seriously? I haven't heard that term since I'm a kid.

Fo shizzle

The top Democrat in the U.S. Senate apologized on Saturday for comments he made about Barack Obama's race during the 2008 presidential bid and are quoted in a yet-to-be-released book about the campaign.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada described in private then-Sen. Barack Obama as "light skinned" and "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one." Obama is the nation's first African-American president.

He did say that Michael Steele was in the Heezy, at that Press Club luncheon. :p

That's a shockingly odd choice of words as recently as the mid 2000's. I mean, if someone were apologizing for their comments in the 60's, that would be another thing.

However, in perspective, I am more frustrated with Reid for the cluster that the health care reform bill has turned into.

The Democrat Party has long-held racist bad actors; Harry Reid's comments point to something deeply held. Sadly, that is not to say the Republican Party is without its guilty parties as time to time they are revealed. But Democrat Harry Reid's comments, together with Democrat Robert Byrd's earlier klan involvement, reveal something in the Democrat party not conducive to equality.

It's Democratic Party. Get it right.

Thank goodness it was Dingy Harry and not Rove or Palin. After all Obama is clean and well spoken.
More of the Do what we say, not as we do.
I am baffled why Harry apologized, I believe there is a Cop in Conn. that got a beer but no apology.
But...do as we say, not as we do. Harry was probably drunk any way.
I wonder what Imus will have to say?

Famous "African American" link.

Are there "African South Americans" or "African Europeans" or is it African or Europeanhow about "Caucasian Africans"?
The whole thing has gone as loony as the left. None of this classification is meant to unify, it simply lifts and seperates.

Is she still alive?

Wonder what they will then say about the other comments..

The Atlantic posted excerpts from the book that included a comment Bill Clinton made about Obama to then Sen. Ted Kennedy saying, "A few years ago this guy would have been getting us coffee."
I say we vote them all out, we need Hope and Change.

Janeane Garofalo's comments about Republicans were wrongly directed; she clearly needs to hurl the racist bomb at Harry Reid and Bill Clinton based on their comments. Don't hold your breath though... liberals are not capable of criticizing their own...

Negro is a bad word now?

Is African-American the only politically correct thing to say? What if one isn't from Africa?

I mean, I know I am not called a German-American seeing how my ancestors are from Germany.....

Is it wrong to call someone "black"? I hear people say "white" all the time.

To always be politically correct is a job in itself ...

Oh please.
My response to 99.9% of your recent posts as well.

anyway....from msnbc (more shxt nothing but crap - the all obama network)link
WASHINGTON - Trying to tamp down a national uproar over race, President Barack Obama acknowledged Friday he had used unfortunate words in declaring that Cambridge, Mass., police "acted stupidly" in arresting black scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. "I could've calibrated those words differently," he said.

He stopped short of a public apology.
Bold is mine.

Doesn't the buck stop with obama? why should others do differently than he when they are of the same ilk? Of course reid, clinton, and biden are not deities like the leader barry, why should they apologize when he will do anything to not apologize for his comments. Now he is quick to apologize to every nation about US arogance, just not his own. Hmmmmmm

Black would be my preference since the MSM refers to Caucasoids as "white" while referring to Negroids as "African-American."

You are using made up BS terminology from an outdated, disproven theory about human ancestry.

All humans share a common ancestor. The theory those terms are from describes a unique ancestor for each "race" group. The "theory" is little more than a weak attempt at justifying racism.
