Obviously there's been a fair amount of discussion on these boards about all sorts of issues that are rearing their ugly heads on this new iPhone. I've decided to hold off buying the new phone for a couple of months hoping the QC issues will be resolved by then. Like many, I'm not exactly happy with what appears to be a real drop-off in QC and I'm starting to wonder what the heck is going on over at Apple, especially since Steve's passing, and I think this interesting and balanced little read provides some good perspective...especially for those who believe that none of this stuff would have happened if Steve were still here.

The recent string of mistakes and apologies may simply reflect the reality that Apple has gotten a little sloppier as it transitions from the Jobs Era to the Cook Era. According to Tim Bajarin, principal analyst with Creative Strategies, some things will inevitably "fall through the cracks" as Apple continues to transition to new management and figure out its path forward a little more than a year after Jobs resigned from the company...

Cheers.

As an end user, I would look at this post as well:

"Maps is an important part of iOS 6, but it’s not the most important part. Would the iPhone stop working without Maps? No, it would be just fine. "

The new phone and OS has some issues, but look around, it's still the best phone with best experience.
