There's video here, but a picture is worth a thousand words:
faux news are a bunch of idiots.jpg

I am assuming the morons at Faux never went to high school, or else they would've immediately seen what the summit logo is really based off of:

hmm doesn't an atom symbol make the most sense? seems so to me lol

Fox likes to stir up all sorts of emotions over a topic that's not a big deal at all

Honestly, I don't care if Obama is Muslim, Christian, Jew, whatever.....as long as he acts in the interests of the country

What makes me angry is that they are acting like Islam/being a Muslim is a bad thing...

Michael Goodwin sounds like a total moran.

This was on Fox News? Or the opinion stuff they say isn't part of the news? Whichever, they sound like a bunch of high schoolers discussing this. The chick doesn't even know the term logo.

What's sad is how many viewers eat this **** up and take it as gospel herein.

So the left thinks. Also the model was an inspiration for the logo, I don't see what having gone to high school has anything to do with this. Its a simple question of asking what inspired the logo. The white house had to be called to confirm what the logo was based off so I guess those idiots didn't go to high school either.

Would you be speaking of certain posters?

Anyway, this is just stupid. And some, pardon my language, dumba**es in this country will fall for it.

I can't believe you're trying to defend this.

Fox News would call into question a roasted pig's head at a white house dinner on the grounds that it looks similar to Limbaugh.

    a) I don't think this fooled anyone, thats all I stated. The conclusion they came to was ridiculous, no one with half a brain would even bother with it.

    b) Theres no reason to suggest someone didn't go to high school because they didn't know that an abstraction of an atom molecule was the inspiration for the logo.

Its not defending it, its refuting the suggestion that the right bought this idea.

Also John Stewarts take on this was pretty good.

I bet there's some guy, somewhere, that's going to believe that and go to work the next day and convince his mates about it

Wow. That is pretty low since the system being used is pretty common for nuclear stuff any how and yet they turn it into a political issue.

I am waiting to see what our resident right wing nut job will be saying to defend Faux news on this.

It's not like you'd expect the average Joe off the street to know this, but don't you think they should have done a little research before putting it on the 'news'?

Im not sure why even an educated person would draw this conclusion, first off the atomic structure isn't even right for a nuclear material, and it just looks like any other pretty logo of a cresent moon/planet.

Now if it looked like this, I could see it:

I know you're probably not interested in details but in the video you posted they're reporting what Michael Goodwin has said: Goodwin's claim is that Obama "deliberately put this as a logo to try and continue his outreach to Muslim nations in a positive way," adding that at "the same time, he points out in his article that we're not going to say terms like 'Jihad' anymore or 'Islamic extremists' anymore. So you be the judge." in the New York Post (picture).
It is a bit strange considering the symbol for nuclear power is traditionally this.

and don't forget the Missile Defense Agency's logo http://www.mda.mil/

Maybe, but it's not like being a Muslim makes you a bad person. I highly doubt faux would say anything if the logo resembled a Christian symbol.

Er... the atomic structure is perfectly correct for a Hydrogen atom (Hydrogen being a nuclear material) assuming an implied nucleus in the center under the text.

And what you posted was a molecular structure, whereas nuclear materials are pretty much by definition elemental.

This blatant pandering to Lego Space Minifigs should not be allowed to pass unchallenged.
