Saw this on Reddit and thought it was interesting and relevant when it comes to the media pushing a narrative.

The last week of news coverage around the last photo would say otherwise.

Don’t mistake this as agreeing with the OPs rationale for posting this.

Not at all, a few milliseconds difference is all it took to paint these scenarios with very different moods, and this goes both ways.

They aren't pushing any agenda; they're selling a product. Controversy sells. Feel good crap is only good for a one hit deal. Controversy is the gravy train.

Yah there's a reason even in local papers why the piece on the stalling out of the ethics reform bill is on page one above the fold and down in the lower left hand corner is the On the Bright Side article about the school's greenhouse program. Day before that above the fold, felony charges put on people who mismanaged a nursing home, bottom right corner On the Bright Side some 80-year-old sorority sisters getting together at a SUNY reunion. Graft and crime sell. Productive and social endeavors get the runner-up awards..

On the other hand lately I've started to wonder how many people are like me and look for the little picture of sunshine and "On The Bright Side" as the launch point... tired of all the pot stirring and sadly accurate tales of grifters doing what grifters do.

You can dislike a person and their policies and still treat them with professional courtesy.
