My car broke down on the otherside of my town so i had to take a cab to the repair shop once it was picked up to get it and drive it back home.. After i paid the Cab Driver with my Debit card.

He gave me 10 Dollars and i'm shocked because i've never been given money by a total stranger. This is like a real life pay it forward. Has anything like this ever happened to anyone else?

I'm amazed that there are people in the world that do great things like this. I'm going to go find a homeless person later and give it to them :D

Not so strange. I get cash back whenever I buy something with my debit card all the time.

Random acts of kindness are always a positive thing. We should all commit the occasional needless generosity, if only to counteract the pervasive crap we all encounter from day to day.

That was nice of him! We should all aspire to be as nice.

But granted it can be a tad strange.

Waiting outside the bus stop in Japan a crazy old man walked up to me and randomly handed me a 1000Y bill (about $10).
I tried to give it back multiple times but he refused and stumbled old way!

Still don't know why. Bought treats at the convenience store nonetheless :p

Why would you give it to a bum? Go out and get yourself a nice dinner or something. Or you could spend it on something from iTunes.

10 bucks for a nice dinner? Where do you eat? As for that bum... that could be jesus in disguise.

I can get a good meal from just about anywhere for 10 dollars. I'm in New Mexico. If the bum is Jesus than giving him 10 dollars would be even more pointless because Jesus would not have any need nor use of 10 dollars.

Always use discretion, of course. For instance, offering to wipe the backside of the gentlemen in the stall next to you is a no-no, I've found out.

At first I had a really bad thought--usually the only time a random stranger gives somebody 10 bucks it involves a prostitute LOL

Kinda rare though to be just randomly charitable like that.

One random stranger gives you 10 bucks while another random stranger breaks the window on my truck and steals $1900 worth of tools and test equipment.

Glad to know the universe is in balance :p

189 people should now donate $10 to random strangers immediately. Sorted.

Sorry you were done over, what a pain.

Doesn't Jesus want more and more money?
Thats what I thought pastors convey/convince every Sunday!

Back in college, I had a good friend that would purchase those cheapo umbrellas from a drugstore and leave them in his trunk. Then anytime he saw someone walking in the rain, he'd pull over and give them an umbrella.

I always thought that was cool. Especially since weather in Austin was so unpredictable.

He probably had a minimum for Debit card usage and gave you the difference. Suppose that minimum was $25.

    $15 [Taxi Fare] + $10 [Change] = $25 [Bank Debit]

That happened once to a naive friend of mine. She thought the guy was just being kind . . . to make a long story short, he took his money back.
