Not only a trailblazer but a genuinely nice person. She was my representative in Congress. She came to my high school and talked to 16 and 17 year olds on the importance of voting and knowing the issues. She ended up sticking around for almost 2 hours and answered every questions asked of her.
Alas, she was smarter than her running mate. However, the US was not ready for a woman VP at the time. I wonder is she-who-will-not-be-named can take time out of killing things in Alaska and appreciate the doors this opened to her.
