iPod Account debited?

I thought normally the money isn't taken from your account until the item has been shipped, now obviously my iPod touch hasnt shipped yet (says "Not yet shipped") but the £199 has been taken from my account.
I don't really have a problem with this as I have to pay in the end, but I just don't know where my money will be for 1 Month.

edit - Sorry as I was posting this thread someone posted the answer in a different thread. Turns out credit cards arent debited until shipped and debit cards are shipped immediately.
