My company pays for my cell phone so I added a new line to my wife's personal account today and got a SIM for it (not sure I really needed one but thats besides the point).

I'm planning on preordering the iPhone X under that new line and then popping in my personal SIM that I have in my 7 right now. My question is, when the phone arrives do I have to activate it under the new line that I ordered it with or can I swap the SIM card for mine then simply turn it on?

Thanks

I didn't need to do anything... EXCEPT a manual update of the phone. It kept getting hung up when I tried to do the phone-to-phone transfer of data. I ended up calling tech support, and they suggested doing the manual instead, and all was good. They said it had to do with having a locked home WiFi network, but I dunno. I have ATT.
