Hi!

I use handbrake all the time to put stuff on my iPod, but that's only good for DVD's. Now I've ripped the ones i want onto my iPod, I'm turning to the ones stored on my hard drive. i.e. all of the xVid .avi's. I know I need to convert them, does anyone know of a program (hopefully freeware) that will do the trick? Imtoo seem to have one, but it's shareware :-(

When I try to import the xvid's into itunes, it does nothing....

Ta!

isquint

And if you want a program that's great at converting video, check out Visual Hub. It costs money, but I feel it's worth it.

Visual Hub is worth every penny. Its lightning fast, and is capable of converting just about any sort of video into a buttload of other formats.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

Is visual hub faster at ripping xvids to the ipod faster than isquint, for exactly the same movie?

As I have a stack to convert in my movies folder! - It will take days!

You should probably think of iSquint as a fully functional demo of Visual Hub, except it only does iPod video. I would guess that the two programs convert files to iPod formatted movies at the same speed.

The only problem I have with Visual Hub is that it's unable to properly encode the WMA. So the WMV files don't have proper WMA sound and so the resulting files cannot be streamed to my Xbox 360. It is what it is though, and the program is still great for what it does.

!!

Download prism, it is a freeware that is really good!
I just converted a 700mb movie from xvid to mp4(iPod) it took me about 20 minutes and now works perfect!
