I will try to keep it simple.
As an iPhone 6s user i wanted a new iPhone with a similar or larger screen but with a similar or smaller size.
Basically less black space on the front.
To this day apple only offers larger phones or phones with still the same old form factor with the large bezels.
The 6s is still fast enough run all my apps flawlessly. And i don't need a better camera as i am not using it a lot anyway.
I understand that the new phones are more spec driven but i don't understand why Apple does not produce new phones that follow the internal specs with a modern exterior and instead still reuses five year old outdated exterior designs.

My wife has just had an iPhone XS and there is very little size difference to my 6S when you put them next to each other. The screen is miles better than my 6S as well.

Cause you are a niche that literally doesn’t exist in the overall scope of things.

Good that we get the input from a researcher like yourself who probably spoke to thousands of plus size device owners and shares his rich experience.

Joking aside, OP: have you tried any of the existing phones? It might just be a question of getting used to the new device design for a little.

Well if it appealed to masses and would sell I’m guessing that they would accommodate. I’m assuming they like making money seeing they make tons of it. However what does this DA know?

People often don’t switch eco systems, and those who do probably don’t do it often, hence you have to take one of the available options when the time comes.

At the end of the day they sell millions of these and it’s impossible to please everyone at all times.

Get the iPhone 11 Pro, or the XS if you won't pay as much. Those phones have basically the same dimensions as the 6S but they have very minimal bezels. Bonus: Big battery improvements and dual (XS) or triple (11 Pro) camera setup!

That’s what X/XS/11 are for, same size with more screen. Wait, let me guess you don’t like the notch or you prefer Touch ID right ?

Except it isn't. It (the 6s) looks the same size but the 11 Pro is about 33% heavier than than 6s was and overall about 25% larger. Many people consider that to be pretty significant.

I think a large group of us are hoping the 5.4" iPhone 12 hits the sweet spot. I'm getting the new SE now, but will upgrade to the 5.4" iPhone 12 if it does.

My thoughts exactly.

But you have to be careful because people around here will absolutely crucify you if they find out that you prefer smaller or lighter devices. Everyone must love the new phablet-size phones. Otherwise, you're an outcast and a narcissist.

Yep. Price-wise, too. Overall, there were too many compromises on the X/Xs/11 Pro for me to be willing to spend over $1K on it (bigger, heavier, OLED, notch).

That said, I'm not completely sold on the 5.4" iPhone 12 if rumors are true that it has OLED. Thus far, all OLED screen phones I've tried have given me migraines.

To be fair Apple cater for two niches at both ends of their target market. The SE2 which is an old form factor and their cheapest phone (should be a good replacement for the OP’s 6S). The other is the 11 Pro Max which is their flagship device but at the high premium end. Both of these markets cater for fewer users and leaves the iPhone 11 and the 11 Pro (to the lesser extent) to appeal to the mainstream user. It’s a complicated strategy but at least there is something for everyone.

I replaced my 6splus with a new XR and I’m pretty happy with it — the only thing I don’t like is the lack of a Home button.

Because 399$

iPhone 12 will have 5,4" screen so dimensions will be close to 7,8,SE with larger screen. So wait about 5 months. If price is not an issue you will be satisfied.
yes, that is what a lot of us are hoping for. If it is as rumored, it will be near-perfect for many of us still on the older form factor who don't want a larger phone.

Dude, what are you on about? I'm just upgrading my iPhone 6 to the new SE and I couldn't be happier. For that price/performance its probably the best iPhone Apple has released in a long time. And here you are complaining.
If your 6S is running flawlessly and you don't need better camera etc. then why complaining anyway? If you want bigger screen you have 11 or XR for that.
SE is the most important update Apple has done and I'm glad they did. Hopefully people will send the right message and maybe we will see Apple catering quality for those that don't want to spend almost $2k on a phone.

As for you, be happy that you have an upgrade path and that you can either choose the format you know or try 11 etc.

I think you've never had more options than now if you're a 6s user:

can get an SE, 11, XR, Pro's, or a refurbished/used 8/8+ for cheap. And a couple more options in the fall.

Isn't that the iPhone X, Xs, 11Pro? It's a similar but larger screen, but with smaller bezels and a similar overall phone size.

No where near the same size mate, especially the 11. That's more like a Plus model in size and weight, it actually has thicker side bezels than the 6s as well

OP has a fair point. There's a lot of people who feel similarly

To them, I'd say wait for the 5.4" iPhone that's going to launch later this year

Move on already. You’re living in the 21th century for christ’s sake.

There's Nothing wrong functionally with the 6s

Battery is it's weakest point but otherwise it's more or less the same user experience as the new SE that will be coming out. For a lot of people, it makes sense for them and still works fine.

Some people care about night mode and oled displays and processing power improvements, others look at a phone and say i still open phone and messages the same, why do I need a new phone?

Those people don't have a reason to upgrade and the A9 is an amazing chip for lasting this long and still being fast
