    Me too.

Cue those talking out both sides of their faces. "There are far too many being killed" and "nobody needs self protection".

Can't wait until everyone has a gun, someone hears a noise like a gun going off, then everyone - paranoid to hell and back - starts shooting. Didn't say if I enjoy the prospect of such a scenario, not really, but people have had guns in conceal and carry states where massacres have happened and nobody gave a **** back then so why would they now...

100+ request does not equal EVERYONE having a gun, about 12 million carry in a nation of 300+ million, Liberals who don't like guns won't carry and even many who have permits stop carrying after a while because they get tired or are going places where they can't legally carry, so relax.

    This:

People seem to forget that the NRA loves mass shootings because gun sales go up afterwards. To them, it's marketing they don't pay for. #NRA

Fear is alive an well in the USA. Land of the free, home of the not so brave.

You guys understand living in paranoia where we are all on the edge is exactly the point of using terrorism as a tactic right?

You have to remember that this is the same mindset where people are aware that there are 9 million AR-15's in the USA, and you could probably count on your fingers the number of them that get used in mass shootings each year - but they believe we need to ban ALL of them.

I sometimes wonder which group is more deluded when it comes to their particular love....

Pit bull lovers or gun lovers.

"But not mine... mines perfectly safe because (I'm completely trained and know how to use it)(he's friendly and fun loving and wouldn't hurt a fly) until (your gun gets stolen and used in a drive by)(your family loving pit bull mauls your young child).

I meant AR-15s (and guns in the "assault rifle" category), not guns as a whole. I understand a pistol as personal defense, I don't understand an AR-15 as personal defense.

An AR-15 is not an assault rifle, it's a semi-automatic rifle.

But I was answering your question - an AR-15 can throw a bullet faster than a handgun, and more accurately, and over a longer distance.

Hah, I read that as literally "throwing" (as by hand) a bullet and thought, "duh, no crap". :)

And the quotes around assault rifle was because in my mind I don't know how to classify them really. I was going to state them as long rifles, but that in my mind is more of the LR22 or 30-30 type rifle.

Yeah it's a definite strong argument against assault rifle bans.

If something is dangerous and designed to kill, you regulate it. So yes guns are part of the problem. Nuclear missiles don't fly by themselves. People push the buttons. Yet we still try to control nuclear proliferation. We need to better control gun proliferation. It's not a hard concept. Stop pretending it's a big deal. It's not.

By your logic, it's not the nukes fault, so everyone should have one, right?

agreed, it's not a big deal.
guns are already regulated, here you have a wife beater on the FBI's radar going nuts, the Boston bombers? on the FBI list, forth hood? FBI list, instead of infringing on EVERYONE"S rights why not take a closer look at why these people made it past the list w/o any problems?
