I just recieved an email from ATT stating the data charges are valid and there is nothing they can do. I'm on the phone with them now.

Somehow from 9am to 12AM. My iphone ate through 27.4GB on 4/3/17!

I have a 30gb plan, and I generaly use 8-15 in a month. I'm 39 years and I sold phones for 15 years, so I'm not a newbie. I know how to control data usage.

I was at work from 6pm to 11pm. ATT shows data usage in 3 hour chunks. And it states from 6-9pm i used 10gbs of data! I wasn't on the phone at all. I was working!

I'm pissed. Has anyone else gone through all of their data after upgrading to 10.3?

AT&T here, no issues. I even reset my cellular data counter after updating.

Verizon here and no issues. I do have a 2 GB shared data plan with my wife. We are always on wifi so no issues for me.

Verizon here and no issues either. Please keep us updated so we can all be aware of what's going on. Something behind the scenes no doubt. Even if the update happened on cellular data along with the app updates it's a heck of a stretch to use that much in a short time. And you already had the update installed? Weird, just very strange.

Mine only shows 142 MB total data usage since March 10. And I've had the 10.3 update installed since the day it came out. And likewise with the 10.3.1 update since it came out. Both updates installed using iTunes.

And yes, that is MB. I don't use much data on my phone. I have a plan that's capped at 300 MB per month. Seems plenty adequate for doing emails and browsing websites and of course responding to Macrumors.

I don't download music, or videos, etc. on my phone. Just email and websites.

You'd be surprised how far that data goes when you use your phone all day to email and look stuff up.

After 2 hours of being on the phone and i spoke to 4-5 people in CS and retention.

I finally one supervisor that change my plan and then instantly put back my old plan. Thereby reseting my usage.

I'm back to normal now...
[doublepost=1491416753][/doublepost]no idea what cause it, but around 10:30 pm whatever was using data casued my phone to die and turn off. Since around 9am on 4-4 til not noon 4-5. I only have used 139mb.

Glad you got it worked out.

Sounds like it must have been a rogue app. Or somehow there was another user that got crossed into your data plan. Perhaps an accounting error with your phone company.

Did you verify the data usage against your phones built in data usage counter?

I reset mine every month on my phone so that I can tell how much I've used and can compare that to my service provider if necessary.

Does your device (or any other devices on your account) show anything using that much data on them?

I had Apple Music try to download ALL my music once, in earlier 2016. Burned through my 10gig data plan in a few hours.

A wipe and reinstall fixed it, I have no idea what prompted every song in my library to try and download and keep trying after I cancelled them.

This is off topic but since you have 30gb have you checked into there unlimited? It might be cheaper to get on there unlimited plan.

It should be listed in settings, cellular.
It will list what app used that much data.
You're lucky they took care of you and bypassed the charges but next time they might not let you slide.
So better to figure it out and fix it.
Also reset statistics all the way at the bottom every once a month when you billing cycle starts to keep track what used what and how much data.
