Airplay on receivers - can you mirror or beam pictures? (restrictions vs Apple TV)

Just a quick one for those in the know; do the current receivers that support airplay support images? For example, can the family all beam photos to the receiver and will it play them like an Apple TV?

I wanted to know really if Airplay on receivers have any limitations vs the Apple TV

think it depends on the receiver. mine is "airplay compatible" but it is audio only - connecting just shows my receiver's GUI with text description of what im playing.

As far as I can tell most receivers seem to be audio only. If there are any supporting airplay video, they are probably on the more expensive side I would guess.
