Ok so I recently got an Apple TV 3rd Gen for my birthday and love it. My parents have one too and I am very familiar with how to make airplay work and at their house and it always worked flawless on their big 65" Panasonic Plasma tv. Now with my 42" Vizio LCD tv, when I enable airplay mirroring it works great except the image does not fill out the screen. I have tried changing the settings on the computer and the TV and nothing fixes it.

Can anyone provide a little help? Or am I stuck with it like this?

Oh also I had a fire wire to HDMI cable that I used before to watch movies from my computer and it filled out the screen fine.

You need to go to the Apple TV settings, in the audio and video section there is an overscan option. You need to change that.
