airport connectivity

Hi, I have this laptop for a while and always had this issue, but now getting inquisitive about it. would appreciate any ideas

my airport connection seems to be always lower bars then any other computers around me. is there a way to fix it or improve it?

same two macs, same distance from the router, I have less reception.

please let me know
