Airport Express

I have a 5 year old airport express that no longer even lights up when plugged into an outlet. Does this mean it is shot? It will not reset either.

5 Years, its had a good life. I think its time for a new one. More than likely is dead. I had two Airport Expresses from that era and both only last about 2 years.

You can make a few bucks if you sell it for parts on eBay. Just note that its not working.

Also, if any of your macs are covered under Applecare, an Airport Express, Extreme or Time Capsule is also covered.

5 years might be a bit of a stretch, but it's worth a shot. flopticalcube is right, they still bring a good price on eBay even if they're broken, for this exact reason.
