AirTag set arrived, but with wrong engraving

Hi,

so my AirTag set of four arrived today here in the south of Japan just minutes ago. To my surprise though, the engraving was wrong on all of them. Wrong as in, completely different from what I chose.

First I thought that‘s just the film cover of each indicating they are engraved, but nope, peeking under it and sure enough all of them had different engravings from what I have initially ordered.

Bit of a bummer to be honest, but just a heads up that this might happen to other folks as well.

I assume you'll do the obvious thing... have your name legally changed so your new initials match the engraving?

Absolutely. Why use something as mundane as Haruki or Mei when you can be 🐍🐇👾 (snake-rabbit-sprite) – so much better! haha

I didn't realize that the engraving would cause my order to be delayed, all I really had to do was read the actual order to notice that but NO who has time for that! So now I sit waiting with two leather holders that arrived weeks before the airtags.

Just receive my 4-pack today and also got the wrong engravings. Well, guess I have to wait a couple more weeks now

That’s sad, I am sure apple will sort it out for you in the end though. It’s the waiting that’s the hard part.

UPS keeps teasing me. For three days they’ve sent the message “UPS Package Update: Your package will be delivered tomorrow..” Each day it was to be delivered, another message.. Well, maybe next week..?

According to UPS, my AirTag was to be delivered sometime around May 17, but it arrived today. So take the UPS estimate with a bucket of salt.

Unfortunately, my order also arrived with the incorrect engraving (and different serial number).

Seems obvious that Apple should set up a special 'find my AirTag' website to get these mistaken deliveries connected to their rightful owners!!
