Oh, that was painful to watch. A giant stadium is not conducive to schtick from a half-rate comedian (whose best known role was Stuart Smalley.)

Surprising, since Al is usually pretty sharp. Once he got serious the speech got a little better. Although ending with telling parents to campaign for Hillary and leave their eight and four year old children home alone was peculiar, to say the least. If it was a joke it fell flat. If it was serious, it was quite creepy.

I tuned in late to Franken and Sarah looking like deer in the headlights. I didn't think the Dems could out do the Trump convention but they might just do it.

This convention is pathetic on so many different levels. It's like having teeth pulled.

Oh you'd say that anyway no matter what. Let's just be honest.

I loved Sarah's speech actually. The Bernie or Bust people are being ridiculous. Al Franken and Paul Simon, eh...not so much. Simon was so off key that my husband muted the tv, grabbed his phone and played the studio version of Simon's song instead. Much better. :D

Glad to see there's a theme of mocking Bernie supporters. They can't take the high road even after rigging the system against him.

Everyone knows the Bernie or Bust people are ridiculous- especially the DNC.

Is that why they apologized to him for the emails?

Did you listen? He said he was the politician/straight guy, not the comedian.

You mean the pitiful substitute of Carroll O'Connor? He figured out how to make bigotry be funny. Silverman just ends up looking pathetic at best, propping up racist stereotypes at worst. I've not seen her show in years, nor do I care to see it any time again soon.

Paul Simon sounded absolutely horrible last night. His voice is gone. He might as well have used a vocal track and spared our ears. No shame in it, Axl Rose is using vocal tracks right now.

And of all his songs, why did he pick the one that Art Garfunkel sang? Some sort of f/u to Art?

Hasn't it been F/U to Art since they broke up?
