Recently, YouTube freezes and causes my browser to shutdown. I've tried it with both Safari and Firefox. This is the only time they do this. Is there any fix to this problem?

Reinstall Flash or use the HTML5 option with YouTube.

EXAMPLE: Browser (Safari and FF) freeze when watching YouTube

I tried both of those but there was no effect.

You mean, even watching YouTube via HTML 5 freezes the browsers? Have you taken a look at CPU activity during those occurrences?

Yes. I'm actually fairly sure it's anything with flash, because an ad popped up on a different site and the rainbow wheel showed up. I've have this computer for 2.5 years and it has never been like this. Tomorrow morning I'm going to make a new user and see if the same thing happens on that one.
